Security 212 is seeking an experienced and organised Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of our security services and training activities.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating staff, managing client requirements, monitoring service delivery, supporting compliance, resolving operational issues and ensuring that Security 212 maintains a professional, reliable and efficient service.
This role requires strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, together with experience in the security, training, facilities management or a related operational environment.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating staff, managing client requirements, monitoring service delivery, supporting compliance, resolving operational issues and ensuring that Security 212 maintains a professional, reliable and efficient service.

Job Description
Security 212 is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to coordinate and manage the operational activities of the organisation.
The successful candidate will act as a key link between senior management, clients, security personnel, trainers, administrators and other operational staff. You will be responsible for ensuring that services are properly planned, adequately staffed and delivered in accordance with company procedures, contractual requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
The role will include responsibility for security operations, staff deployment, client communication, performance monitoring, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of Security 212.
- Coordinating security personnel across client sites and assignments.
- Preparing and managing staff rotas, shift allocations and operational schedules.
- Ensuring sufficient staffing levels are maintained across contracts.
- Managing last-minute absences, sickness and operational cover.
- Liaising with clients regarding staffing, service requirements and operational issues.
- Supporting the mobilisation of new security contracts.
- Conducting or coordinating site visits before deployment.
- Ensuring site instructions and assignment instructions are available and communicated to staff.
- Monitoring staff attendance, punctuality, presentation and performance.
- Supporting the recruitment, screening and onboarding of security personnel.
- Ensuring appropriate right-to-work, SIA licence and employment checks are completed before deployment.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to staff, contracts, sites and operational activity.
- Monitoring incidents and ensuring reports are completed accurately and escalated appropriately.
- Responding to client complaints and operational concerns.
- Investigating service failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Supporting disciplinary and performance-management processes where necessary.
- Maintaining regular communication with supervisors, security officers and site personnel.
- Conducting spot checks and site inspections where required.
- Monitoring compliance with assignment instructions and company procedures.
- Supporting risk assessments and operational security planning.
- Working with management to identify operational risks and implement appropriate controls.
- Ensuring staff understand emergency procedures and escalation arrangements.
- Monitoring uniform, equipment and identification requirements.
- Coordinating mobile patrol, key-holding or response activities where applicable.
- Supporting event security and temporary security deployments.
- Reviewing operational performance against client expectations and contractual requirements.
- Producing operational reports for senior management.
- Monitoring service KPIs and identifying areas for improvement.
- Supporting contract reviews and client meetings.
- Working closely with finance and administration teams to ensure accurate timesheets and payroll information.
- Checking staff working hours and ensuring operational records are accurate.
- Assisting with invoicing information where required.
- Supporting training and development requirements for operational staff.
- Identifying staff who require additional training or supervision.
- Working with Security 212's training team to coordinate staff development.
- Maintaining confidentiality when handling employee, learner and client information.
- Promoting a professional and positive working culture.
- Supporting business continuity and emergency response arrangements.
- Assisting senior management with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Supporting audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
- Undertaking additional operational duties reasonably required by senior management.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience in an operations management, security management, contract management or supervisory role.
- Strong organisational and operational planning skills.
- Experience managing staff, rotas or multi-site operations.
- Good understanding of the UK private security industry.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Ability to manage operational problems calmly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and client-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise multiple operational requirements.
- Good written English and report-writing skills.
- Competence using Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets and operational management systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
- Understanding of incident reporting and escalation procedures.
- Ability to work independently and make appropriate operational decisions.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent operational matters where required.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and operational locations.
Desirable
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience working for an SIA-regulated security provider.
- Current or previous SIA licence.
- Experience managing manned guarding contracts.
- Experience managing mobile patrol, key-holding, CCTV or event-security operations.
- Experience conducting site surveys and risk assessments.
- Experience with security staff recruitment and screening.
- Knowledge of BS 7858 screening requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant security industry standards.
- Experience working with training providers or vocational training centres.
- Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Previous experience managing client contracts and KPIs.
- First Aid qualification.
- Management or leadership qualification.
